COVID-19 Update

2/05/22

We have a number of people affected by COVID-19 across the organisation.

All close contacts are identified and informed and all positive cases are reported to the NDIS Safegaurding and Quality Commission after immediate isolation.

A communication informing affected people to monitor symptoms will be sent which requires the same vigilance as required on a daily basis.

Working in a close-knit community has great advantages for support, however as COVID-19 cases are increasing everywhere, we are experiencing cases originating within the community, not through our work environment.

We continue to provide as much stability as possible during this time and are taking every measure to minimalise risk and ensure the safety and wellbeing of our staff and participants is maintained.

If you have concerns, please contact our management team on (08) 8562 4855 or for further information you can access the latest on COVID-19 updates from the SA Health website.

Changes to our operations

30/03/2020

Barossa Enterprises continues to work closely with our employees and clients, to provide a safe and stable environment during these uncertain times. Communication is key and we are keeping our clients, familiescarers and staff up to date with new information as it arrives from the Commonwealth Department of Health, SA HealthSafeWork SA and the NDIS.

We continue to provide services and supports to all clients in their homes and are keeping our support staff up to date, whilst managing risk through implemented strategies.

In line with the recent SA Health announcement on the spread of COVID-19 in the Barossa and keeping social distancing measures in place, the following decisions have been made:

  • Barossa Enterprises will not be running group activities. This includes our Community Options and Community Enterprise divisions.
  • To support our clients during this time, we have been keeping in regular contact via phone or using online platforms. This keeps them connected and know that we are here to support them. Our Support Workers have also come up with fun ways to keep clients active and entertained whilst in isolation.
  • Our Production division continues to operate in a strictly controlled environment, adhering to governmental guidelines.
  • Our Reception is currently closed with staff members working remotelyWe continue to monitor and respond to all incoming phone calls and emails.
  • Daily communication with our employees is being conducted via phone and online platforms.
  • We continue to uphold all practices currently set out to reduce the risk of COVID-19.

As the situation changes on a daily basiswe will endeavour to communicate any changes to our operations, ensuring staff, clients, families and the wider community are kept informed.

If you have any queries or require support during this time, please contact us on (08) 8562 4855 or reception@barossaent.com.au

Steps our Organisation is taking to reduce the spread of COVID-19

25/03/2020

As you would no doubt be well aware, COVID19 (otherwise known as Corona-virus) is spreading across the globe causing a high level of disruption and anxiety. This news has dominated the media and with this, comes uncertainty and fears about what might happen. As the situation is ever changing, we must manage the risks as we know them and it is important to support one another and share in keeping people as safe as possible.

Our Management Team is monitoring the situation closely and has increased infection control processes, provided training and information to our clients and supporting staff and implemented a Business Continuance Plan.

We have increased measures in light of the changing environment to include:
- temperature checking at our three sites
- social distancing in the workplace
- staggered lunch breaks
- staff have the ability to work from home
- ceased all non-essential meetings and visits
- nominated one support worker to conduct grocery shopping for our clients requiring this service
- all buses and people movers are disinfected before and after a transport run and hand sanitiser is available on board vehicles
- following all government rules including self-isolation for employees and visitors who have travelled

We continue to work closely with our employees and clients to provide as much stability as possible during these uncertain times.
